I was born in Blackpool and have lived here all my life. I live in the Marton Ward that I represent as do most of my family.
I have two boys, aged 7 and 4 years who love living in Blackpool 'their town'. I attended Stanley School, St. Georges High School and Blackpool Sixth Form College.
I have a BA (Hons) degree in English Language, Liturature and Writing and I am currently a Student Primary School Teacher. I also volunteer as a teaching assistant at my children's school.
Previously, I worked in the dental profession for 13 years, as both a Dental Nurse and later as a Dental Tutor at Blackpool & Fylde College.
I have also worked at Beneast Training and I have worked as a consultant at other colleges in the North West.

Cllr. Ian Fowler has served Waterloo Ward for 10 years, but lived in this ward for 19 years and knows much about the needs of the people there. He believes in principles and loyalty, values learned during his service days, and wants to do all he can to serve the residents of Waterloo Ward.
He is married with one child, a daughter, and practises as a Chiropodist in Blackpool. Before this he served in the Submarine Service of the Royal Navy for 26 years.
During his career with Blackpool Council he has edited, produced and delivered a quarterly newsletter throughout the ward and held regular monthly surgeries to attend to the needs of the people he represents.
" I am loyal and will not be deflected from what I consider to be right and proper.
My service career taught me PRINCIPLES MATTER."
Cllr. Gary Bell Deputy Chairman Blakcpool South Conservative Association
Gary was born and raised in Blackpool and was educated at Waterloo Primary School and Tyldesley Secondary Modern School. On leaving school he spent two years at Blackpool Technical College to gain further qualifications.
He initially followed his parents and grandparents into the hotel trade. However, fulfilling a desire to travel, he joined the Army and enlisted into the Royal Army Medical Corps with the intention of training to be an Environmental Health Inspector. However, he decided to change his career choice and became a Combat Medical Technician.
Enjoying both the excitement and challenges of military life he decided to make a career of it. With this aim in mind he set his sights on advancement and promotion soon followed. He attained the rank of Warrant Officer Class One and held the appointment of Corps Regimental Sergeant Major, the senior appointment for a soldier in the Royal Army Medical Corps.
Having achieved this prestigious position he was then fortunate enough to be granted a Commission and joined the Command and Staff Cadre. During his commissioned service he held a variety of appointments, the highlight of which was, undoubtedly, commanding an Armoured Medical Squadron of some 170 officers and soldiers.
Having completed 30 years service and reaching the rank of Major, he decided to retire and return home to Blackpool. During his service he has travelled to, and served in, a number of countries, including Cyprus, Hong Kong, Germany, Kenya, Belize, America, Norway, Gibraltar and Oman. In addition, he has undertaken Operational tours in Northern Ireland, the Falklands, Bosnia and Kosovo.
On returning home to Blackpool he became involved in voluntary work for the Blind Society and is a School Governor at Marton Primary School, Woodlands School and Highfield Humanities College. Given his commitment and passion for Blackpool it was not surprising that he also became involved in local politics and successfully stood, along with his brother Ron, as a Conservative candidate on Talbot Ward in the recent local elections.
In his spare time, of which he now admit has very little, he enjoys jogging, swimming and hill walking. His more sedentary side also enjoys reading, particularly military history and biographies.

Cllr. Jim Price was born in Wednesfield in the West Midlands in 1948.
In 1953 he came to live in Blackpool in Wyre Grove and stayed there until 1966 when he moved
with his parents to Cumberland Avenue and stayed there until he got married to Carol in 1973
when he moved to his present address.
He was married to Carol for 33 years until she sadly passed away in October 2006. They have
three children and now have six grandchildren.
Jim attended Revoe Infant & Junior Schools and moved on to Tyldesley Boys School which he
left in 1963 and went into the family engineering business straight from school. He attended
Blackpool Technical College, on Day Release, for 5 years.
The original family firm was in Harley Road and moved to new premises in Selbourne Road in
1968. Jim became a Director of the company, and stayed in that position, until the factory closed
in 2001 due to his father's avanced age and his own serious accident that made it difficult for
him to do manuel work. The family then formed another company buying and renting out houses
and this company is still managed and run by Jim and his two sisters.
He has been Honorary Secretary of Tyldesley Conservative Club for 5 years, which he joined at
the age of 18 years, and he has been a Governor of Bispham High School since 2005 and
became a Governor of St John Vianney School in 2008.
Jim admits it was his wife, Carol, who originally persuaded him to consider local politics and
her untimely death in 2006 almost changed his mind, but after a few weeks away and some
hard thinking he decided to go ahead.
Jim first stood for Council election in 2007 and was elected to Tydesley Ward. He sits on the
Employment & Appeals Committee as Vice Chairman and also on Licensing,
Development Control &Tourism and Regeneration Overview & Scrutiny Committees.
Cllr. Roger Stansfield was born in Hebden Bridge in West Yorkshire and came to live on the Fylde Coast in 1961 when he got married.
He has 2 sons, Robert and Andrew, and started a Car Body shop in 1965 which is still in operation today under the expert guidance of his youngest son.
For 10 years, with his wife, now sadly deceased, he ran a 21 bedroom hotel.
Cllr. Stansfield has lived in Tyldsley Ward for 21 years and happily serves the people there very well.
Ron was born in central Blackpool and was educated at Waterloo Primary and Tyldesley Secondary Modern Schools and is fiercely proud of his hometown. Raised in the hotel industry and, with the exception of the nine years he served in the Royal Marines, has always lived in the town. He is married to Brenda and has three daughters.
Since leaving the Marines he has worked in a number of senior board positions with blue chip companies within the banking and finance sector, primarily in Sales and Marketing, but also in Training and Operations. Additionally, he successfully ran his own management consultancy before retiring because of disability.
His involvement in working for the local community is widespread and, as well as his duties as Talbot Ward Councillor, he also serves as a School Governor, a Magistrate, a Member of the Independent Monitoring Board at Kirkham Prison, a Director of Blackpool Coastal Housing, a founder and Secretary of The Royal Marines Association, and holds a number of other non-paid Directorships.
Ron believes that Blackpool can return to its past glory; albeit in a different guise, but with the same basic ingredients that made Blackpool the entertainment mecca that it has been for so many visitors over the years. He believes in strong communities where people pull together to create neighbourhoods that everyone can be proud of. The key to this is social responsibility, individual accountability and a sharing of common goals and beliefs .
By replacing state control with social responsibility we can make Blackpool a
safer and better place to live - for everyone.
In his spare time he enjoys reading and most sports, but his first love is his membership of the Royal Marines Association, where he holds the post of Secretary at Branch and Regional level, and he is also a Council Member, Trustee and Public Relations Officer at National level.
